Discover Dalefoot's eco-friendly sheep's wool compost

3 Minute Read
Our range from Dalefoot is wool-based, peat free & approved for organic growing!

If you've been waiting for an opportunity to start growing organically or if you have been struggling with water retention, we recommend switching to Dalefoot peat-free composts. Made from wool, these composts are a great, eco-friendly alternative to traditional peat composts.

Dalefoot's Soil Association approved composts are made on their small hill farm in the Lake District. The ideas of their composts came from old gardening books, where many good ideas have been forgotten.

Sheep's wool sheared each year from local flocks provides an alternative source of income to hill farmers. They harvest bracken from the fells of the Lake District on rotation, which improves the habitat for ground nesting birds and butterflies, mostly the high brown fritillary.

Why not grab yourself a bag and see for yourself?
